CaptionKit not recognizing external mic

Good morning,
Thank you for this great product! We set it up yesterday with Propresenter and did some testing. When we create the display in captionkit, it is not recognizing an external microphone we have connected to the (mac) computer via a wire. Could you help?

Hi Tina, does the microphone appear  in the “input device” list, in the right hand side of the dashboard?

Can you also see the input in other programs, like the system audio manager?

James Hunt it doesn’t appear in the list of inputs, and yes I can see it in system audio manager
