Subtitles showing up word after word instead of sentence after sentence

When using subtitles for a live video, would it be possible to change the way the subtitles appear for example, instead of having them appear sentence after sentence, have them appear word after word, as if you are typing it out. That way if the speaker says a long sentence and then says a short sentence, the long sentence doesn’t disappearing right away before you could read it. It would just give you more time to read what they are saying.

I've updated the displays so longer sentences always stay up for a readable amount of time, before then moving on to the next text chunk. It's challenging to handle word by word, because of the way the transcription works, but I'll look into this.
Previously I allowed the transcription service to send back in-progress text chunks, but these would often need to update as the whole sentence was transcribed and the syntax etc. was fixed up. Maybe I could open this option up for people to choose, in case they want to see words asap - even if they might be edited as more of the sentence comes in.

I agree! We have one hard-of-hearing individual in our church who said it was a little bit confusing to read the captions since they were often too far behind what was actually being said. I think he once said that captions are a way for him to more quickly process the few sounds he can hear. If the captions are several seconds behind, it's a bit more difficult to both listen and read.
